The Anemone Series includes a collection of functional objects inspired by the organic, wave-like tentacles of anemone sea creatures.

The Anemone Bowl was created from experiments that sought to test the structural limits of untreated plywood under bending stress. These studio experiments lead to explorations of three-dimensional volumes achieved from flat strips of plywood that are bent into shape by hand without the use of glues, steam or molds that are typically required in the process of creating bent-wood forms.

The result is an intricate, lightweight yet strong structure that exploits the tensile properties of the material. It has curvaceous and sculptural qualities that move beyond the typical planar construction and applications of plywood in most products.
